Lovdahl, Ian that highly sought after high-ambient vibe. Favorite track: Heaven Feels Like Floating Around in a Golden City Made in a 90's Demoscene Video.

Smekermann First off, the concept is cool as heck (can’t swear, it’s an album about Heaven), which lends a beautiful and fluid conceptual feel to the entire thing. I’d also like to point out that the second song is an absolute banger (is that blasphemous? I’m just saying, the song fucks, that’s all).

Anyway, great Berlin School-like sequencer-heavy electronica sandwiched between beautiful, warm, droney, ambient pieces that still hold your interest. An awesome throwback to 70s space music. Favorite track: Making Music By Pushing Invisible Cloud Squares in the Sky.

about

This is an album that was inspired by a lucid dream I once had, one that is described quite directly in the album's title and tracks. There was a looming feeling of peace and completion throughout it, that I could interpret as a passing to the afterlife. During the first song, I am exploring a majestic city filled with golden domes and tall modern buildings alike that looks like it came out some digital creation, yet is still strikingly beautiful. In the second song, I am soaring up into the sky and admiring the view of the city from there, until I begin touching the sky and figure that there's a huge hidden drumpad behind it, which I use to play music. The third track is the only one that doesn't directly correspond to the dream and I've used it to provide a reflective closure to the whole experience.

Musically, this album is kind of a departure comparing to the previous ones, as what was primarily important to me was to carry the feeling of the original voyage. For the first and third track, the idea was to evoke vaporwave drone/ambient and combine it with dungeon synth (the influence of Ramona Andra Xavier of Vektroid was especially important, Stars of the Lid, as also Queen's hidden ambient track at the end of "Made In Heaven"). The second track is a "progressive" ambient electronic track with some Berlin school and chiptune elements in the likes of Disasterpeace, Steve Roach and Ian Boddy.
